Roppongi Art Night 2022

For Roppongi Art Night 2022, I presented the urban installation WHITE CUBE – WHITE CUBE – ROPPONGI 2022. The architectural space of Roppongi was first incorporated into a virtual environment inside my computer, and the landscape perceived from within that virtual space was then translated back into physical reality. Expanding on visual-illusion strategies developed since 2018, the work produced shifting distortions and spatial depth as viewers moved their viewpoint. By encouraging viewing both with the naked eye and through smartphone cameras, the installation explored a perceptual oscillation between the real and the virtual.
