Iku Harada

Born in Yamagata Prefecture in 1982. Contemporary artist.
Since the end of 2008, she has been constructing a virtual world called “inner space” within a computer, translating its landscapes into paintings, sculptures, and installations. Moving back and forth across the boundaries between digital and analog, virtual and real, her practice presents multilayered landscapes while exploring perception and the act of “seeing.” In recent years, her activities have expanded beyond museum exhibitions into public spaces and digital domains, where she continues to experiment with reconstructing landscapes from multiple perspectives.
Major exhibitions include Setouchi Triennale 2025; MOT Annual 2023: Synergy—Between Creation and Generation (Museum of Contemporary Art Tokyo, 2023); Roppongi Art Night 2022 (Tokyo, 2022); Another Museum within a Multilayered World (ICC, Tokyo, 2021); and the open studio project Another World: A Map at the 10-Year Mark (Fuchu Art Museum, Tokyo, 2019), among others.
In 2024, she unveiled a large-scale artwork spanning approximately 90 meters at Komazawa Olympic Park in Tokyo as the first featured artist of TOKYO CITY CANVAS, a cultural project organized by the Tokyo Metropolitan Government.
