Open Participation Workshop
"Let's Color Up the Neo Ichihara Town Together!"
Ichihara Lakeside Art Museum
2025.11.29 - 12.28

Content
The "window drawings" freely created by visitors are digitized and reflected as the virtual city of Ichihara (windows of buildings).
An interactive program where the exhibition videos are constantly being updated.
concept
This project attempts to redefine the city not as a finished product, but as a "fluid collective" that is constantly changing through the accumulation of perspectives from the people who live there. Through a free-participation format, it accumulates the viewpoints of people of diverse ages and backgrounds, visualizing the process by which small individual expressions rewrite the public landscape (virtual city). It can also be described as a social experiment that uses digital technology to present a new way of interacting between the individual and the public.
Through the experience of having a single painting one has created incorporated as a part (window) of a vast virtual city, participants will feel the tangible impact of their own expression blending with the perspectives of others and shaping the landscape of society. While enjoying the dynamism of how the private act of drawing expands into the public expression of exhibition video, they will experience a proactive engagement with the city and space.
During the exhibition, artworks created by nearly 150 participants became part of the virtual city of Ichihara (the windows of buildings).
The video has been updated for display purposes.
