Ebina Station Front ViNA GARDENS
Temporary Fence Artwork 'The Expect Horizon'
2017

This temporary enclosure art piece is located in the free passageway of Ebina Station. Conceived within the context of ongoing urban development, the work explores the theme of "the relationship between nature and the city." Based on the artist's internal landscape within a virtual space, "inner space," it superimposes images of the city yet to emerge.
Signs, arrows, and architectural silhouettes placed within the imagery act as symbols of urban functions, suggesting the creation and direction of space within a composition of depth. Meanwhile, the colorful planar hues evoke the artificial shadows created by overlapping buildings, creating a contrast with the natural landscape. By projecting the yet-to-be-seen image of the city onto the temporary structure of the enclosure, this work attempts to visualize a landscape in the midst of change.
