Fuwari no Mori 2020
Art Pool Project
2020

This project aims to establish a hub for contemporary art in the Narita Airport area, utilizing the local natural environment to develop public art, galleries, art cafes, and more.
In 2020, the "Art Pool Project" was implemented, transforming the entire poolside of a municipal swimming pool in Sakae-machi, Inba-gun, Chiba Prefecture, into an exhibition space.
By capturing the Ryukakujidai Pool, the venue for the exhibition, from multiple perspectives, the artist incorporated and reconstructed local landscapes and historical fragments such as Lake Inbanuma and the ancient burial mounds as motifs. Furthermore, since a view overlooking the entire space can be obtained from the grounds of the adjacent elementary school, the image of a horse-shaped Haniwa (clay figure) rising three-dimensionally was constructed from a specific viewpoint. By overlapping the real space with the virtual image created through visual manipulation, the artist created a landscape where multiple layers intersect.
