rgb+ exhibition Vol.1
Tokyo Zokei University Painting Department Teaching Assistant Exhibition

2009.12.14 - 12.19
Tokyo Zokei University ZOKEI Gallery

A three-person exhibition by Yasuyoshi Tokida, Iku Harada, and Rintaro Hiramine. (Curated by Professor Toshiya Motai)
The exhibition title, "RGB," is the image color of Tokyo Zokei University and represents the three primary colors of light: red, green, and blue. The three colors of light, when combined, create a variety of hues, and when they overlap, their brightness and energy increase. In this exhibition, the nature of light is likened to a state in which different expressions resonate with each other, and the title "RGB+" has been chosen.

The works presented in this exhibition are based on "inner space," a virtual world that the artist began constructing on a computer at the end of 2008. It was around this time that the artist began seriously experimenting with depicting landscapes seen while moving through a space constructed with 3DCG as paintings. Compared to his current work, these early works still retain strong organic and natural elements, and one can see the atmosphere of the early "inner space" before he moved towards structural motifs such as "windows" and "openings" in his later years.
