Welcome to Hyper ICC
- Another Museum in a Multi-Layered World
2021.1.23-3.14
NTT InterCommunication Center (ICC)

The exhibition was structured as a linked online and physical presentation. The ICC space was reconstructed through high-resolution 3D scanning, resulting in “Hyper ICC,” a browser-based virtual museum that visitors could freely navigate. This framework established a multilayered structure in which physical and informational spaces corresponded to one another.
In the physical venue, Harada presented an installation composed of large-scale paintings and sculptural works derived from her virtual world, inner space. In WHITE CUBE – WHITE CUBE 2021, a three-dimensional structure from the virtual environment was unfolded into a two-dimensional arrangement within the gallery. From a designated viewpoint, the entire space reassembled perceptually as a three-dimensional form, generating a shifting spatial experience.
In the final scene of the online exhibition, an avatar of media artist Akihiko Taniguchi was programmed to walk through Harada’s virtual world, accessible through hidden commands and playful mechanisms embedded within the interface. Through this reciprocal structure between online and physical realms, the project proposed new possibilities for exhibition formats and modes of perception under pandemic conditions.
