Solo Exhibition” Replacing Fragments of Memory with Maps”
2018.5.4 - 5.20
Museum Shop T: A shop featuring local culture and books.

A solo exhibition held in 2018. Centered on the virtual world “inner space” constructed within the computer, Harada presented paintings based on the landscapes observed within it. Continuously developed through processes of updating and archiving, the project approached its tenth year the following year. The exhibition served both as a reflection on her ongoing practice and as a point of departure toward its future development.
Harada creates fictional worlds with houses and objects inside his computer, and continues to paint the landscapes he sees within those worlds.
As an artist, I began by asking myself the question, "What is originality?" and, while engaging in the ultimate confrontation with myself, I have continuously updated and archived this fictional world, which I have named "inner space," while simultaneously creating paintings on canvas using paint as my material. And now, next year will mark my 10th year. This exhibition can be seen as a confirmation of my goal of "continuing for 10 years." I invite you to come and see the artist's challenge to the future.
