At Komazawa Olympic Park, I created the large-scale outdoor work Symbiotic Landscape on a temporary construction wall. Taking the renovation of the gymnasium and the park environment as a point of departure, the piece combines my recurring motif “color trees” with the theme colors of the Tokyo Deaflympics to form a landscape where urban activity and nature coexist. Within everyday movements—passing through and staying—perception of the public space is gently renewed. The temporary wall is approached not as a boundary, but as a shared landscape.
